Free Agency Update: Barnett added to LB corps

After opening free agency with very little activity, the Bills finally made a significant free agent signing on Sunday morning, adding veteran linebacker Nick Barnett.  His contact was for three years at $12 million.  The 30-year-old has spent his career with the Green Bay Packers and is expected to fill one of the starting inside linebacker positions.

In a much lower profile move, Buffalo also claimed Lionel Dotson off waivers.  The defensive lineman was a former seventh round pick by the Miami Dolphins.

This weekend, the Bills also finished signing their 2011 draft class by inking third round pick Kelvin Sheppard.  He played inside linebacker for LSU.

Previous moves:
Additions:         Tyler Thigpen, QB;   Brad Smith, WR/QB/KR
Losses:              Paul Posluszny, LB
