Modrak fired

Tom Modrak, VP of
College Scouting
In a surprising post-draft move, the Buffalo Bills announced on Wednesday the firing of Tom Modrak.
He had been with the team since 2001, originally hired to the front office of former general manager Tom Donahoe.  Most recently, Modrak was serving as the team's vice-president of college scouting.
Although it has been unclear how much involvement Modrak had in the actual draft selection process, many in Buffalo were baffled how he continued to survive the regime purges and front office changes (four GMs and four head coaches during his tenure with the Bills).
Over the last decade, it can be safely assumed that Modrak had at least some say in the selection of first-round busts like Mike Williams, J.P. Losman, John McCargo and Aaron Maybin, along with numerous other underachievers like Willis McGahee, Donte Whitner and Leodis McKelvin.
The Bills finished selecting players in the 2011 NFL Draft only four days ago, receiving mostly positive reviews from the experts.
With Modrak gone, the majority of draft decisions will likely be done by GM Buddy Nix, Assistant GM Doug Whaley and Head Coach Chan Gailey.
